Golden Turkey Lasagna
8 oz. lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
Sauté together:
½ cup chopped onion
½ cup chopped green pepper
1 can (4 oz) mushrooms, drained
1 clove garlic minced
Melt: 4 Tbs. butter or margarine
Combine: in 4 Tbs. flour stir until smooth and bubbly (about 2 minutes)
Slowly add 2 cups milk, stirring constantly to keep it smooth
Add ½ tsp. dried basil
Add ¼ tsp French tarragon
(Optional: Add ½ tsp. parsley, season salt and ¼ cup white wine)
Mix together: 1-1/2 cup cream style cottage cheese
With 1 egg beaten
3 cups cubed cooked turkey
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup grated parmesan cheese
Instructions:
In medium baking pan, Layer lasagna noodles, sauce, cottage cheese mixture, turkey, cheddar cheese, parmesan cheese, repeat
Should be three layers, top with sauce and cheeses
Bake 350° F for 45 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Serves 6-8
Nice with rolls and salad or green beans.
