Plants that will grow in the shade

We all have those spots that don’t get much sun.  Here is a list of the plants that don’t mind the shade.  Hope this helps.

Herbs – Basil, Parsley, Sage, Chives, Tarragon, Mints;

Perennials – Bleeding heart, daylilies, ferns, forget me nots, meadowsweet, butterfly bush,  columbine,  coral bells, leopardsbane, hostal lilies, monkshood, globe flower;

Ground-covers – Ajuga, lily of the valley, Japanese spurge (pachysandra) barren-wort, ginger, periwinkle, wild violets; 

Bulbs – Begonias, tuberous, snowdrops, crocus, tulips, daffodils, grape hyacinths;

Annuals – Balsam, fever few, begonias (wax), lobelia, inpatients, vinca, fuchsias, salvia, torenia (wishbone flower);

Woodland  – bell-wort, fringed bleeding heart, lung-wort, blood root, meadow rue, trillium, hepatica, anemone, bluebells, wild columbine, dutchman’s breeches, jack in the pulpit, mayflower, snake-root
