• Free Running salt – no iodine
  • Glass jar or shaker
  • one bunch herbs
  • 1 cookie sheet
  • Your oven


  1. Spread a layer of the salt on the cookie sheet – 1/8″ thick.
  2. Chop herbs fine, and spread on top of the salt
  3. You can use chives alone for a great flavor
  4. Basil, chives, thyme and oregano all work good individually or add together for an herbal blend.
  5. Place cookie sheet in aq 200 degree oven.
  6. Check the herbs every 10 minutes
  7. They should be dry enough to crumble but not browned
  8. Take a wooden spoon and move it around gently.
  9. This may take 30 minutes, depending on your over.
  10. When dry, remove the cookie sheet from oven and cool.
  11. You can use your hands or anything with a flat bottom to crush the herbs
  12. Put the herb and salt blend into a very dry bowl and stir to mix.
  13. Transfer to your glass jar or shakers
  14. Great on meat or potatoes or veggies of any type.
