Chocolate Cherry Upside Down Cake

Ingredients

  • 2-1/4 cup flour
  • 1-1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup cocoa
  • 1-1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1-1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1/4 cup vinegar (white)
  • 1 can cherry pie filling

Instructions

  1. Spred pie filling in a greased 9 x 13 inch pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients and set aside
  3. In another bowl, mix the remaining ingredients
  4. Add liquid to dry mixture, stir to moisten
  5. Carefully pour batter over cherries
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Cool 10 minutes in the pan, then invert on a platter
